Wetlands Delineation

Wetland Delineation

AquAeTer was retained by a commercial real estate developer to perform a wetland delineation and assist with the environmental permitting for the construction of a commercial building in Louisiana. During the Phase I Environmental Site Assessment it was noted that the subject site was situated on hydric soils. AquAeTer confirmed these findings through a Preliminary Jurisdictional Determination through the United States Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) district office in New Orleans, Louisiana. A wetland delineation was then performed by AquAeTer biologists, utilizing USACE methods.

During the delineation, AquAeTer coordinated with the regulatory branch of the USACE to provide the necessary information to expedite the final Jurisdictional Determination from the USACE. Wetlands were identified on the property and AquAeTer assisted the real estate developer and their respective counsel through the application and regulatory process. Appropriate measures were taken, including coordination with a wetlands mitigation bank, public notice, meetings, and coordination with the regulatory agencies. Upon completion of the mitigation process, the property was developed.

AquAeTer provided the following services to its client for this sampling and reporting project:

  • Phase I Environmental Site Assessment

  • Wetlands Permitting
  • USACE Section 10/404 permitting
