Expert Report
AquAeTer was retained by this client to design a sampling network, identify applicable air sampling methods, develop and implement a work plan, oversee and validate data quality, and provide an expert report for use as a basis for legal arguments. The data was to be used as part of determining impacts to the surrounding communities from releases of polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons (PAHs) through the air pathway. The resultant data were reviewed and validated, and an expert report was provided for use as evidence. The complex studies simultaneously employed five different U.S. EPA approved ambient air monitoring methods over three consecutive 24-hour sampling periods. In conclusion, the study quantified ambient concentrations of several compounds including PAHs, volatile organic compounds, metals, phenolics and dioxins/furans from the use of wood preservative pesticides including creosote and pentachlorophenol.
AquAeTer provided the following services to its client for this sampling and reporting project:
- Pre-sampling strategic planning
- Area reconnaissance for sampling station location
