Landfill Design
AquAeTer was retained by this client to prepare the design and specifications for a new 1.5 million CY hazardous waste disposal cell, and to prepare the design and specifications for the final cover for Cells #11 and 12. The new cell was designed, permitted, constructed, and approved for waste disposal by NV DEP within a 15-month period. AquAeTer also provided construction quality assurance services for all earthwork and liner construction, and provided the construction certification report. This final cover was the first evapo-transpirative cover to be approved for a lined Subtitle C landfill.
AquAeTer provided the following services to its client for this sampling and reporting project:
- Design and permit revision planning with client and NV DEP
- Engineering design calculations, including HELP, TR55, and UNSAT-H modeling
- Slope stability evaluations for excavations and final cover
- Design drawings and construction specifications
- Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) plan
- Assistance with bid documents and pre-bid meetings
- Liner and leachate collection/leak detection system construction oversight
- Construction records management
- Construction certification report
