AquAeTer professionals teach a course on Biological Wastewater Treatment Modeling and Simulation – May 22, 2019
On May 22, 2019 Paul Marotta, P.E., Ph.D., BCEE and Pam Hoover, P.E., taught a class titled “Biological Wastewater Treatment Modeling and Simulation” in Nashville, Tennessee for area professionals. Pam taught an introductory section on NPDES permitting. Her presentation’s two primary topics were: 1) the importance of understanding the waterbody that is being discharged into and 2) permit requirements stem directly from the goal of the Clean Water Act to protect and restore the Nation’s waters. Paul was joined by colleague Parsa Pezeshk of Civil Environmental Corporation. The presentation covered wastewater unit processes, biological nutrient removal, and several models. His presentation included demonstrations of the models and small group activities and a presentation from a Dynamita representative to discuss modeling in Sumo.
